A blind man walks into a bar...

Sat Nov 7, 2009, 2:10 PM

(Edited the summary so it's closer to my vision of the story. I apologize for the awkward writing style)

Okay, Edit2 is worth a notification because I recently found the music by an artist named Ludovico Einaudi. I don't know if you've ever heard of him, I certainly wouldn't have before now. His musical is very classical, but I find it has a different feeling behind it. It's often considered minimalism even though it really isn't. I highly recommend at least taking a look: [link] <--That one is my favourite at the moment, Oltremare, it's a great piece to fall asleep to. I know I did today on the couch! XD

So it's November. You might notice there's no new art from me again. :D I'd tell you why but I forgot.

Oh right now I remember.

I lost the will to live-- wait, that wasn't it. O__o Oh yeah, I blame school. :3 I'm under a mountain of work and I can't even get close to the top without someone kicking me down. As it stands, I'm officially giving up even considering drawing anymore. Which is kinda sad because I totally just found my concept back from--Oh wow, it was March [link] other day on the computer.

Anyway, some news for you in no particular order, just as I remember them:

Last week I found out I majorly failed the first Biology test we'd had. Now of course the vast majority of the rest of the class failed too, but it was still no less depressing and frustrating and doesn't absolve me whatsoever from sucking. You might not this is significant, but from my memory, never in my life have I ever failed a test. I'm just not used to failure. =/

Do I overuse commas?

On Wednesday my whole class went to Toronto all day to see a performance of the musical The Toxic Avenger. (side note: I have classes with all the same people, except that 5 of them disappear for last period because while most of us took Biology, 3 took Music and 2 took Business). That trip was awesome and I must have totally lost my mind during it because on the way home I was actually singing and leading a song which I don't do because I'm an insanely shy person. o.o

I'm sending off a poem for a contest today. It was interesting writing it and I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. I'm not going to post it here but if you're that interested you can maybe Note me or comment here.

Possibly updates to this later. Anyway, I'm gonna post the write-up I had for that idea since it's never gonna get done. I had tentatively titled it "Twisted Blade".

Twisted Blade
“God” as the humans call Him, or The One, had left long ago, creating new worlds in an attempt to recreate us perfect beings, the Master Work that had been his most brilliant mistake. Each new world, each new civilization that blossomed came closer and closer to His vision of Heaven, a perfect utopia that all beings could delight in.

Of course, the real Heaven was much more complicated. The Crystal Heights had been at war with the Fiery Depths since the Fall of Lucifer, always seeking to protect His creations from those who would seek to destroy them. For while He was powerful in all things, even He could not pierce the cloak of shadows that rendered Him useless against the Fiery Lords and their evil intentions.

It would not be until [The Age of?] Unity that an end would be able to be seen. And even then if we do not act quickly, we may very well be doomed.

**Angels and archangels are made of thought, packed so densely that it maintains form and light is reflected off its surface.
**Archangels were created by mistake by The One – if they are killed they are lost forever. They are thought, but His eternal thought – they are very strong and intelligent, and have special abilities that angels do not. They are hard to kill, but if they do die they are so perfect that they are gone forever.
**When humans that have lived good lives die, and if their righteous and pure thoughts are strong enough, they are packed together and reborn as angels.
***ANGELS cannot truly die. It takes a while for the thought to recompose itself, but once it does, the angel is reborn. The only problem is that The Fiery Depths often prevent the thought’s recomposition, and it is destroyed before it can reform.

Main character
Name:
Sword: Crimson Edge / Auburn Wave?
Highly respected archangel.
Is somehow cursed with the alter-ego of the Balrog
The curse is referred to in Angel understanding as Unity, an angel and demon merging; only this being can decide the fate of the beings of the Crystal Heights and Fiery Depths – the decision can go either way as he is equal parts angel and demon

Glossary
The One – "God"
Master Work – the attempt to recreate Archangels
Heaven – utopia where all souls can live in harmony; does not truly exist yet, Earth was His first attempt, and each new “Heaven” becomes more perfect, but still not as perfect as the Crystal Heights
Crystal Heights – the first Heaven, home of angels and Archangels, His perfect accident. Through the Master Work He seeks to recreate Archangels and the Crystal Heights for all to enjoy
Fiery Depths – Hell, abode of demons and dark thoughts; ruled by the 5(3?) Fiery Lords, each equal in destruction as He is to creation
Fall of Lucifer – The greatest of the Archangels, Lucifer, was too proud to guide His new creation after the archangels, believing that archangels were already perfect, why should he have to submit to lesser beings; Lucifer refused to accept this reality, and he and four other archangels led a violent rebellion against His forces, being struck down in the end by Michael. They made their home in the Fiery Depths where their forms were twisted from the perfection He had created, and they became the Fiery Lords, opposing the Archangels.

...If you made it down this far, I'm impressed. Anyway it's not very clear from the above, but in summary, "God" attempted to create Heaven with many creatures on it that could enjoy its wonders. His first attempt was an anomaly -- it was perfect, but not at all how He had imagined and wanted it to be. He managed to create the Archangels accidently, but there very few of them and He wasn't quite happy with how their environment had formed.

Earth was His second attempt at Heaven. This time the world was exactly as He had imagined, and He created a number of creatures, but no matter what He tried, He could not recreate the Archangels. In addition, one group that He had created--humans--were incredibly flawed. Since then He has continued to create more worlds and in an attempt to create the Archangels again, but on an Earth-like world.

Lemme know if you have any questions because even if it never gets finished, I'd like it to make sense. xD I kinda feel my summary doesn't do it justice but I can't find a more accurate way to say it...
